Natalie tells us about how her daughter made this lovely desk tidy. Let’s look at it…
Items needed:
- Cardboard
- Coloured paper or card
- Loo rolls (5 per desk tidy)
- Decorated paper/wrapping paper with various designs
- Tacky glue
- Glue dots
- Sellotape
Instructions:
- Cover loo rolls with decorated paper or wrapping paper using sellotape to secure.
- Use a different paper at the top of each roll and fold inside the tube, securing with some tacky glue if needed.
- Use a plate to draw a circle on some cardboard and a piece of coloured paper/card for the base.
- Cut out cardboard circle and coloured paper circle using tacky glue to secure.
- Use glue dots and some tacky glue to stick the tubes to the base – keep them close together to strengthen the design.
- Add pens! Also can he used for make up brushes as a dressing table tidy.
I made these with my 7-year-old daughter and she was able to do all of the steps herself. I’m finding that she is more engaged with activities that she has chosen so I am trying to give her a few options and take her lead on which activities to do.
