Faye, from North wales, sent in this great time shadow drawing idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
This was a good one for the kids. Seeing how shapes and shadows can change. We used blue tac and the kids picked this stick. Every hour or so we went out to see how the sun had changed the shadows and what direction it was in. Between 12-3 it didn’t change much so we left it then checked again at 5.30pm and we couldn’t see any shadows because the light had gone in.
It worked how we wanted it to. The children enjoyed the different changes, the science part, and using their fine motor skills by tracing carefully inside the “shadow” stick
Do you have any other projects planned?
We’ve made a …….. you’ll have to wait & see
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
Hi my names faye. I’m from north wales, a dinner lady at a local school. Between my husband & I we have 9 children & a grandson.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
I’m really enjoying it. Life is much more slower & I’m appreciating the time I’m getting to spend with my children.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
If you need to take 5, take 5. If you want a day of doing nothing, do nothing. Just being there for your children is enough, even if we feel like screaming at times
Has being part of our community helped you?
It gave me the confidence to set up my own group on Facebook & Instagram. A group to share ideas, crafts, & mental health support to help us during this time. So our group World of Walsh was created
