What did you do?

This activity takes seconds to set up but it really support fine motor skills which is essential for children’s pre writing development.
I used playdough as a base, stuck in some skewers, grabbed some penne pasta and a couple of tweezers and then it was time for my daughter to have a go.
One set of tweezers were more difficult and provided an opportunity for challenge.
There are also opportunities for counting by asking how many pasta pieces they have on their skewer.

It was a huge success.

We can’t complain. I am able to keep my daughter entertained trying to find new and engaging activities to do with her.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

Speck to others and don’t be afraid to ask for some ideas or support. There are many places out there with activities that are quick and easy to set up!
