Gemma, from Redcar, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
We had a summer fair in the garden at home for my daughter’s 6th birthday after she was disappointed to not have a school fair this year. We made typical fair games- hook a duck, bean bag toss, boules with tokens for the winner each time which the kids could use for prizes at the end! We made signs for each game and didnt really cost anything as was mostly using toys and games we already had at home.
The kids loved going round each game and knowing there was the chance of prizes at the end. I made my daughter a VIP pass as it was her birthday fair!
Do you have any other projects planned?
We have started a fairy garden made from an empty cable reel- the kids are very excited to see the finished fairy garden, lights and all!

How are you finding being housebound so far?
I’m working from home with both kids off school. Thankfully because of the nice weather we havent felt too couped up and the kids have discovered being best friends with each other, rather than fighting constantly which is always a bonus.
Has this website and community helped you?
Great ideas for something different and easy to do at home to keep the kids entertained.
