Jo, from Newcastle upon Tyne, sent in this great food art idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
Creating fun pictures using fruit and other tasty snacks to get my children excited and involved with making food choices. Also a good way to sneak in lots of fruit into them before they turn into actual biscuit monsters!
I havent found anything that doesnt work yet, so far I’m finding that once I have an image in my head, as long as my fridge is full, I can put it together quite easily.
Do you have any other projects planned?
Just to keep adding to our snack plate collection, probably going to have to start taking idea suggestions off social media soon haha
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
I’m Jo, from Newcastle upon Tyne, England! I have a son named Alfie Henry who is 4 and a 1 year old baby girl named Nancy Rose.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
Being housebound is up and down from day to day, some days are great and we are creative and fun and it flows nicely, or we have a fun trip out as a family! Other days are hard and emotional, and we feel a bit claustrophobic, I’m guessing that’s the same for everyone right now though!
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Dont be too hard on yourself! Set realistic goals! Get out and get some fresh air every day, even if it’s just a walk round the block! Remember everyone is in the same or a very similar boat right now!
Has being part of our community helped you?
I think it’s a fab idea, an insight in to how other people are getting on as well as some lovely inspo to get us through and make the days interesting!
