Kerrie, from Bristol, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
As lockdown was playing havoc on bedtime I thought I would share our success!
The sleep fairy noticed our two year old was playing up every bedtime so dropped of a sleep box (any box you can find!), each night she goes to bed good with no fuss she wakes to a treat in her box ! (This can be anything you wish, a good extra was a little sticker to pop on her sleep chart) we haven’t had a bad night since!!
Everything worked for us, a little pocket money for her money box, a chocolate or sweet treat, we started off with adding a sticker so she could pop it on her sleep chart and see how good she has been each night. You could literally add anything, if you child is crafty, you can buy a crayons advent calander which are cheap on amazon and use it as the sleep fairy countdown to a bigger prize?
Do you have any other projects planned?
Our next hurdle will be to loose the dummy day and night… we are thinking of how to do this.
In lockdown we have managed potty training and are now dry day and night along with going to bed like a princess!
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
My name is Kerrie. I have one child aged 2. I am from Bristol, England.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
I absolutely love being home with my child, although working from home is a challenge, the two don’t normally go together so still taking some getting used to. But we have been doing some lovely crafts and keeping busy in many ways.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Stay calm, understand they are probably finding it as unusual as you are so take every moment with them and make it a special memory for you all to treasure. Fun things don’t have to cost money.
Has being part of our community helped you?
The ideas and community feel is amazing!!
