Pamela is a single mother of 5, with her oldest being at away at university – even during Lockdown. They have a busy household with the rest of her team at home being 11, 10, 8 and 1 year old (lockdown birthday).
Pamela is also normally a theatre director trying to keep rehearsals going and stuff running online has been hard, but we can see her creative flare in this wonderful picture. Let’s see how they did it…
What did you do:
In order to make the same walking routes a bit more fun, the kids looked out for flowers and plants in loads of different colours. They took photos on my phone and when we got home, we sorted them into colours on the computer and they then edited them (with my help) into a rainbow picture (we had 49 different photos in total)
The kids loved trying to take different shots, close-ups etc and managed to learn a little bit about editing on the computer. If you didn’t want to do that you could just enjoy taking the photos (for us it was more about brightening up a walk than the final product) or you could print them out and make a collage. Little kids could just look for one for each rainbow colour.
What’s your next project idea?
We’ve been doing quite a lot of crafty stuff, our next big thing is going to be hydro dipping with spray paint, I’ve never tried it so waiting for a dry day as it looks messy!
How are you finding being housebound with the kids so far?
It’s quite intense. Thankfully my guys all get on quite well and will happily do stuff together, help with the baby. It’s very full-on, but we’re doing ok so far.
Any tips to help people when they are housebound with kids?
Keep busy, in whatever way that looks for you, whether it’s walks, craft, schoolwork (there’s not much of that going on here) baking, xbox or whatever. My guys are so much easier when they’re busy.
The amount of suggestions, ideas and tips is incredible. We’ve done so many things I would just never have thought of. I love taking an idea and adapting it
