Jessica, from Canada, shows us how to create our own puffy paint. Let’s read on…
What did you do?
We made puffy paint! You can use puffy paint in a variety of ways. We decided to create yummy ice cream cones 🙂 It is super simple to make! All you need is white glue, shaving cream & food colouring.
First, mix equal parts of shaving cream & glue together. Second, divide the mixture into a few bowls to create different colours. Third, add a different colour of food colouring to each bowl & mix well. Your puffy paint is ready to use!! You can use paintbrushes, scoopers, q-tips & a variety of other materials to paint with! You can also add the mixture into a zio lock bag & cut the tip off and squeeze the puffy paint out of the tip to create designs!
This activity went super well & dried lovely!! The sprinkles on top of the puffy paint held on nicely! The colours did dry a little darker than what they started out as, but still looked beautiful!

How are you finding being housebound so far?
We love staying home together & engaging in fun open-ended play activities! I am thankful for this extra time home with the kids.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Keep busy! Go for walks & get outdoors as much as possible! For some people having a schedule could be very helpful! Don’t forget to make some time for yourself to enjoy a nice warm tea or coffee or read a good book:)
