Shonagh, from Scotland, sent in this great potion making idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
We made a magic wand and used it to make magic potions (food colouring and water to non-magical folk) I set up this very simple but effective and fun activity using a range of different sized jugs, tubs, cups and funnels. I dripped a few drops of food colouring in the different containers, let him say the magic spell and pour the water in. I then added some fairy liquid in and gave him a straw and let him blow the bubbles.
Make sure they know to blow through the straw so they don’t end up with a mouthful of soapy water!
Do you have any other projects planned?
I’ve always got a new project on the go! I love doing tuff tray set ups, themed play activities and nature play.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
I am a mum of 2 boys from Scotland. I have been a primary teacher for 15 years but am on a career break at the moment to be a stay at home mum.

How are you finding being housebound so far?
Some days great, some days not so!!
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Tire them out with walks, cycles, treasury/nature hunts. Try and keep some sort of routine!
Has this website and community helped you?
It’s great! Lots of fab ideas to try at home.
