Ramsha, from The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, sent in this great paper pinwheel idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
They are so easy to make. And a simple STEM activity! You can talk about windmills and wind turbines and how they use air for energy and the power of air. The harder you blow the faster they turn!
Things you will need:
Square papers, push pins and some straws or wooden sticks like I used!
First you need to mark the center of your paper then make diagonal lines from each corner of your paper, this is to make sure each of your sides are equal. Then cut down the lines you just made and fold in each point in the center and attach your pin to secure it in place. And then push the pin into your stick. Add tape to the back if using a straw to avoid the kiddos fingers being stabbed by the push pin. And that’s it your pinwheels are ready!
They are fun and easy to make! And kids love them!
