Karen, from the UK, and her family created their own big-screen movie experience under the stars of North Wales. Let’s find out more…
What did you do?
We forgot about a projector we purchased a few years ago. My husband came across it when sorting out the loft. We paid around £15 for it.
We used a white sheet wedged between two windows and held down with bricks.. We have some large garden pillows and got out the warm blankets, along with popcorn – we brought the cinema to us!
Remember, the darker it is the better you will see the picture on the screen.
What’s your next project idea?
Using wine bottles and corks to do adding and subtraction😂 (I, like many, have quite the collection!).
Tell us all a bit about yourself…
My name is Karen. I live with my husband Mat. We have three girls: Chloe who is 21, Amy who is 18, and Florence who is 6.
How are you finding being housebound with kids so far?
So far it’s been ok. Florence has adapted well, I’m working from home so splitting my time between homeschooling and work.
Any tips to help people when they are in the house a lot?
Do what’s right for you. The Instagram culture makes it look amazing. It’s not, some days are really hard and some are a breeze. Take it day by day and don’t feel guilty for having a glass of wine at lunchtime and staying in your pyjamas all day.
Has the Housebound With Kids community helped?
So many great ideas that we have tried out. Great variety for all ages.
