Sarah, from Surrey, UK, has found the holy grail of parenting! No mess painting! Read on…
What did you do?
Great activity for your little one to create beautiful pictures without the mess! Draw or print your chose shape outline. Squirt blobs of paint on sporadically and place paper inside a zip lock bag or plastic wallet. Let the little one press down over the top to spread the paint. Carefully remove the painting and hang out to dry.
You can use any shape but we particularly liked rainbows.
My little one (5 months old) particularly liked the crackle of the plastic so I had to hold the picture to avoid being screwed up completely.
Don’t put too much paint on otherwise the paper becomes soggy and tears.
Do you have any other projects planned?
Currently working on turning paint footprints into different animals.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
I’m Sarah and currently on Maternity leave after having my firstborn just before Christmas. I love arts and craft, a hobby which I am keen to share with my little one!
How are you finding being housebound so far?
It’s been hard work but has given me lots of time to spend with my little one and I have been inspired but lots of ideas online (including this one!)
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Keep going, you’re doing a grand job. Reach out for support if you need it. There are lots of parents in the same boat and of your stuck for ideas, plenty of inspiration online!
