Caz, from South East London, shows us her mini lockdown bar…
What did you do?
For those without the ability, time or inclination to build a proper garden pallet bar!
We created a crate bar which can be used outdoors or indoors. Ensure the crate can hold lots of bottles, decorate it with lots of lights – we used flower lights and LED bottle lights – then add a large LED bar sign – hey presto! Your own mini-lockdown-bar with minimal fuss and absolutely no carpentry required!
It was a simple vision and all worked perfectly!
Do you have any other projects planned?
We plan to have a garden festival – with camping, music and of course our mini-bar!
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
Caz, two children Max and Mia (10 and 7) and partner Dave
How are you finding being housebound so far?
It’s been tough, especially early on when trying to work full-time and home-school! We’ve learnt not to be hard on ourselves and to accept what we can and cannot achieve during this time. I work in mental health social care and work is becoming busier than ever, so the children are now attending the key worker provision at school – it’s been amazing for them to have a routine back.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Be kind to yourselves, don’t let the guilt creep in and enjoy a drink from your mini-lockdown bar at the end of the day!
