Katie, from Sheffield, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
Sweets inspired vodka. By adding the chosen sweets into vodka a few days prior to drinking, the flavour is then released into the vodka. Lemonade is a great mixer for this. Sprite went very well with the pink millions and made it taste like twister ice lolly.
As it was our 6th wedding anniversary and the theme is sweets or iron it was very fitting to make sweet flavoured vodka.
Our original plan was to do skittles vodka but as the shop didn’t have them we improvised with Millions. It worked very well.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
I am Katie and live in the UK with my husband and our 3 children aged 2, 5 and 16. While my husband is working I am home schooling during my furlough.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
I am finding being housebound with children very different but also very fun. We have done many activities including crafts, baking etc.
Having a range of ages between them is keeping me very busy.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Get crafty! I have done so many messy, model making, paint all over activities that I would never have done before and it has been awesome. Get your bake on too, doesn’t have to be complicated. I have done all sorts from attempting lindt ball centred cupcakes to literally melting chocolate onto rice crispies and making snowmen.
Has being part of our community helped you?
The Facebook group has given me ideas and a place to share my own activities for others who may be struggling to keep their little ones entertained.
