What did you do?
I have been teaching my son number bonds and wanted a craft activity that we could keep looking back at to remind him what numbers you add to make 10.
I drew a London bus outline onto red paper and then wrote the pairs of numbers that you add to make 10 on black paper. My son then cut the bus out and snipped up the numbers to separate them.
We mixed them and he had to stick them on to make windows on the bus with the correct numbers that made 10. We made some wheels and then wrote the addition symbol and = 10.
It engaged my son and involved craft and maths learning without him realising.
Do you have any other projects planned?
We are making a London Bus model next. We have also done some Paddington Bear activities about his travels to London.

Just do what you can when you can and don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
What are your family’s favourite board game(s)/card game(s)?
Junior monopoly is a new fav and any of the Orchard toys– we have lots!
What are your children’s favourite books?
A new book I’ve just found called The colour Monster is our favourite at the minute- all about feelings and emotions.
What toys would you recommend to other parents?
We have lots of wooden trains, Lego and Peppa Pig toys in our house. I would recommend a craft box with some simple supplies and I’ve just brought a tuff tray to try out some more messy play ideas.
