Caroline, from cannock, created an indoor camp site. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
Living in a flat, we have no garden … but that didn’t stop us having a camping weekend (in the living room)!
For our indoor camp we made sure we packed all we needed into an over night bag (torches, pjs etc…) and packed a bag full of food and goodies! We painted a campfire but wanted something a little bit more realistic but also safe…so we used tea light candles which were perfect for roasting our marshmallows we made marshmallow monsters and strawberry alien skewers to roast on the fire and dip into our chocolate fondue which made for a very tasty treat! We used stickers to make a hotdog pokemon ‘happy meal’ using cheap burger boxes and disposable cups (we always buy plain ones so we can add any stickers to make them fit with any theme) the burger boxes and cups were very cheap to at 79p and 99p!
We all slept in the living room and the dining table was transformed into a tent simply by covering it in a double sheet and filling it with cushions, blankets and battery operated candles!
The adults didn’t sleep too well but it helped a 5 year old boy sleep in till 9am (which NEVER happens!)
Do you have any other projects planned?
We are hoping to invest in some bath paints so that we can see how colourful we can make the bathroom tiles next bath time!
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
I live my partner and his 5 year old son.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
Living in a flat has been a bit tough at times but we are lucky to have the space that we do to have indoor picnics, camps etc
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Sometimes the simplest activities turn out to be the best! And if something doesn’t work, don’t worry about it …you know for next time!
