Here we show you how to set up this fun sticky worm wall activity. A fun hands on play idea for young children that only takes a short time to set up!.

Thanks to Ambica, from India, who sent in this great sticky worm wall idea. Let’s take a look at it…

What did you do?

I made a Sticky Worm Wall.
Here’s an activity that you can set up in just under 2 minutes. Just put contact paper on the wall (sticky side out), crush some pipe cleaners in your hand and place them near the contact paper. If you don’t have pipe cleaners, you can use yarn instead.

What you need:
Contact paper
Pipe cleaners

Variations:
Use shape or alphabet cut outs instead of pipe cleaners.
Draw 3 different shape outlines on the contact paper and turn it into a sorting activity. The child will need to put a square cut out within the square outline and so on.

It was so engaging and so much fun.

Do you have any other projects planned?

My next project idea is colour sorting with cups.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

Do you have any tips for other parents?

You should definitely take out some time for self care even if it is a 2 minute coffee break or a hot shower.

What are your children’s favourite books?

Machines at work- Byron Barton
Where’s spot?- Eric Hill

What toys would you recommend to other parents?

Any toys that require hands on work and none of the noisy and flashy toys that do a lot.

Has this website and community helped you?

It’s been a great source of resources especially during this time of covid.
