Cleopatra, from South Africa, explains how to make a homemade volcano. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
We tried making a volcano explosion with my 3yr old toddler.
You’ll need:
Oil(1/4 cup)
Water(1/2 glass)
Any Fizz tablet(as many to keep adding to the explosion)
Food coloring(Pink)
•Mix the water and oil in one glass or see through cup
•add droplets of food coloring
•add the fizz tablet(s) at a time
And see the amazing effect of the tablets exploding in the glass.

How are you finding being housebound so far?
My son started crèche this year, so when the pandemic began to affect our country, us being home took a toll on me, husband and son, individually and as a family because we’ve gotten used to doing many other things outside the house. Because I saw that this could affect my son, I started being creative, some content was shared and some was created by us. This brought a whole new different view on learning for him and us as parents. So now, it safe to say we’ve gotten used to being home and make use of this time to bond educationally and emotionally as a family.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Help them by learning through play! They more you give them creative playing, the more they’re learning!
