Jamie, from Leicester, talks to us about the skateboard ramp her partner made for the garden…
What did you do?
My partner Luke built our 7-year-old daughter, Indi, a mini ramp to make lockdown easier!
It took about 3 days to make, £400 (which is money for her birthday) and a lot of effort put in by Indi’s dad who is a carpenter.
Any tips for others thinking of making a ramp?
Originally it was 2 foot shorter but it didn’t work as well as he knew it could, so he made it longer which made all the difference!
Tell us all about yourself…
I’m Jamie Hockey, from Leicester, got 2 daughters, Indi Rae aged 7 and Bobbi Rae aged 2.
Skateboarding is great exercise for Indi and a place she can let loose and not have to think about everything that is going on. Her dream is to get sponsored her Instagram is @miss_tiny_hawk.
How are you finding being housebound?
Being housebound is extremely challenging as it’s a constant battle with the kids to get work done and just keep busy and occupied – and a battle with myself wanting to get stuff done around the house and at the same time wanting to sit and play all day long! Other than that we are all really enjoying spending time together.
Any tips for other parents?
Don’t put to much pressure on yourself
