Zahava, from London, brought a small piece of France to the UK. Let’s take a look…
What did you do?
I printed off a patisserie sign and the names of different french pastries. I set the table with the pastries and the signs. Behind the table I set up the laptop for a zoom call with a french friend. She ‘served’ us in french and taught us how to order the food, count to 10, exchange pleasantries and some other handy terms. Followed by eating all the yummy baked goods!
If you did it again, what would you do differently/extra?
If I did it again, I would maybe print out some fake french money and get the kids to ‘pay’ for the food, maybe even do orders for hot chocolate. Otherwise, it was a fun and different experience.
What is next?
I have lots of old projects! Just waiting for some more inspiration.
Tell us a bit about yourself…
My name is Zahava. I have 4 children 13, 12, 10 and 7 and I live in London.
How has being housebound been for you?
There have been lots of ups and downs. Doing my best to take lots of pictures of the ups so that we can look back and remember the good times. There are definitely days where I just don’t want to deal with it and I have to remind myself the kids feel the same way. So we can all be a bit moody!
Any tips for other parents?
My best tip is to lower your expectations. Don’t expect them to wake up when you want or eat when you went. Try to go with the flow (easier said then done).
