Tasha, from Norfolk, UK, made a Frozen inspired tutu. Here she shows us how to create one too…

What did you do?

I decided to make a tutu for my frozen obsessed 3 year old for her birthday. I YouTubed and watched multiple videos for a non sew tutu and ordered supplies off eBay:
* 4 different shades of tulle 6inch 25yards
*Croche band 1.5″x 6″
* Croche tube top 8″X10″
* Small sew on snowflakes
At home I had:
* Piece of cardboard – cut to 10inches long
* Scissors
* Needle and thread

Step 1
I measured out a piece of card to 10inches and wrapped the fabric around until I ran out and cut at both sides. ( Repeat for all colours of choice.)Put the smaller croche piece on your leg or I put mine on a big pot, so it all stretches out.

Step 2
Pick up a piece of tulle fold in half and poke through the first hole at the top by the seam, to form a loop, then push the rest of the tulle through the loop, pull to make it tight. Do this for every line that there are 3 holes.

Step 3
Choose the colours you would like for the top of the big piece of croche top, push all pieces of tulle through at same time each side where the arms would go through and tie together at the top.

Step 4

Sew the large croche top to the tutu, simple hand stitch just to keep it into place. Then I decided to sew on little snowflakes onto tutu.

I did find wrapping the tulle around the card quite tricky to begin with as it kept slipping. By the 2nd colour, I got the hang of it.

Pulling the tulle to tight when making the pull loop can cause it all to bunch up so be careful.

Do you have any other projects planned?

I would like to try to make superhero style tutus.
