Abi, from Hertfordshire, sent in this food art idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
Making animals/ pictures out of food to try and make lunchtimes more enjoyable.
Sometimes it’s a bit tricky to make sure I can carry out an idea whilst making sure that Harrison is eating a balanced lunch. Sometimes we just have to substitute certain foods for others to make sure it’s not just a plate full of fruit!
Do you have any other projects planned?
Today we will be making a Shaun the Sheep themed lunch, as this is Harrison’s favourite programme at the moment.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
My name is Abi. I am mum to 2 boys, Harrison (4) and Jarrell (14).
How are you finding being housebound so far?
Being stuck in the house with a preschooler and a teenager definitely has its ups and downs!
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Activities! I have found that creating new and different activities for the boys each day (especially Harrison) has really helped to keep the spirits up. One day we will bake, the next we might build a sofa fort or go out in the garden to draw with chalk.
Has being part of our community helped you?
I love the idea of having a community where everyone can come together to support one another and share ideas.
