Rachel, from Sussex, sent in this great idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
Our activity involved making a lockdown feet painting of a flower. The rainbow has featured so much during lockdown that we kept it within this picture too.
I underestimated how hard the footprints would be to do and ended up lifting my daughter and trying to explain where to put her feet. In hindsight I should have had a lot more scrap paper she could stand on!
The concept worked really well and created a beautiful effect overall. My daughter chose the colours carefully and said if they smudge we would get green rather than brown if we’d used red and blue.
Probably would use a better washable paint next time, was hard to get off the feet!
Do you have any other projects planned?
We’ve started drawing he front of the train and had thought to keep adding more pages behind it of difference carriages containing different people. Family, tv characters, Disney princesses etc.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
My name is Rachel and i have two beautiful children who are 4 and 1.
Am from England and have been trying to make the most of the time in lockdown which hasn’t always been easy!
How are you finding being housebound so far?
Mostly fine but there’s no denying it’s had it’s hard times. As a family we are used to being out and about a lot which hasn’t been able to happen. The children have bonded really well over the time which has been really special to watch.
The hardest part has been not being able to spend time with family and give them a hug.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Just keep doing what you’re doing, we’ll look back on this and wonder how we got through!
Make a mess and make some memories
Has being part of our community helped you?
It wasn’t something I was aware of until recently but the ideas I’ve seen are absolutely brilliant. So creative and achievable.
