Emma, from the Wirral, made this Fairy House with her daughter. Let’s take a look…
What did you do?
This is a very simple activity to do with your little one. My little girl is 4 and loved making this little house.
All you need is 4 toilet rolls, cardboard, lolly ice sticks, glue and paint. Plus stickers and glitter to decorate!
So to make it easier for my girl, I used double sided foam tape on each of the rolls so she could just place the sticks on without the worry of the glue. She did glue one in the front and on the roof for the glitter to stick to.
If you don’t have double-sided tape, glue will work fine but will just be a little more messier and take a little longer to dry.
This would also work well for a little boy who wanted to turn this into a bug house!!
Do you have any other projects planned?
I have done so many activities over lockdown and will look to post on here now. This site is brilliant for ideas! I like the look of the escape room! So will probably do this next. I am however, guided by my children! I let them flow with ideas and I just give them a helping hand. So watch this space!!
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
My name is Emma Lucas from the Wirral.
I have two children a boy aged 6 and a girl aged 4.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
Personally I am loving lockdown! As a family we have connected on a different level!
Do you have any tips for other parents?
I think it’s all about structure! I know exactly what we are doing the day before and so do the children so there are not any surprises. The children always have their free time to play but the days follow the same rough routine. School work in the morning and craft time in the afternoon. So far it’s worked well.
Has being part of our community helped you?
I think this site is absolutely amazing! Helped me a great deal when I am looking for inspiration for our next craft!!
