Vivi, who lives in the UK, tells us about how she made lunchtime more fun with these fantastic duck-shaped sandwiches…
How did you make your “duck” cheese sandwiches Vivi?
To make the “duck” cheese sandwich, you make the sandwich as normal and then cut it into duck shape using a cookie cutter. I even used the leftover cheese cut for their wing, then cut the other decorations using another cookie cutter or by hand (i made the roses from cherry tomatoes skin).
I tried to make the rose using a strawberry but it didn’t work as the strawberry was too small – and the big one wouldn’t work as it was too big as a flower!
What is next on the list to do?
Nothing for now as I’m more of a spontaneous person than a planned one!
Tell us a bit about yourself…
My name is Vivi Hughes and I originally came from Indonesia, and now live permanently in the United Kingdom with my partner and my (cheeky) almost 3-year-old daughter.
How are you finding being housebound at the moment?
I am finding being housebound with my daughter is actually enjoyable. It wasn’t to start with, I’ll be honest, because I used to take her out almost every day – to playgroups, the park, the shop. But now, we are used to it. I love spending time with my daughter at home while my partner is working. I only work twice a week now (only when my partner is off work). We both work for the Royal Mail. She is progressing a lot, but I do sometimes feel sad that she is missing playing in the park or playgroup with friends.
Do you have any tips for others?
I’m not very good at giving tips, but I will say: just enjoy the time you have with your child and try not to stress out too much about things.
Housebound With Kids has helped me with ideas for what activities to do with my daughter to make every day different and fun! I think it is brilliant as it is helping people to share what they did to inspire others.
