Sarah, from Bedford, threw a birthday party for her little girl, Matilda’s dolly. It looks like it was a great day! Read for more…
What did you do?
Our daughter, Matilda, has a dolly called Winter and it was Winter’s birthday and so we threw a party for her, we made a cake, made presents and wrapping, pass the parcel, danced with a disco, even my mum and dad sent a present and we did party bags!
Matilda knew it was happening a few days before and so this made it even more exciting for her and we did all the party prep together! She hand made the wrapping for the presents, made the banner and got all her dollies involved, we did everything together and it felt so real for her.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
I’m Sarah. We have one daughter, Matilda, who is 5 and we live in Bedford.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
This is where all credit goes to Matilda. My husband (Matilda’s daddy) is currently recovering from Covid 19 after spending time in intensive care; she has shown utter patience, kindness and understanding especially not seeing our family and friends as we normally would; some days are long but being able to be together is precious.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Take each day as it comes and get involved with playing with them as much as possible, being silly with them makes them so happy and remember we can’t do it all!
Has being part of our community helped you?
I love how they cover all subjects and ages, so helpful!
