Gemma, from UK, sent in this article about the bowling alley her husband and friends created. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
My husband and his 2 friends made a DIY bowling alley for my nieces due to her not having her birthday party at a bowling alley. The bowling alley took around 2 weeks to build during the evenings after they had finished work. It was made from various pieces of wood, laminate floor, guttering and had many elements a bowling alley would have including ball return, resetting pins and lights. It had to be operated by someone to reset the pins and was a very fun activity and enjoyed but all!
My input was the design of the LED sign and writing.
It looked the best in the evening once it was lite up with all the colours.
The bowling alley lasted throughout the day and was enjoyed by friends and family over the course of the day.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
My name is Gemma and I am married with a little boy called Harrison and he is 22 months old. We live in the UK.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
I am very lucky to have worked in childcare for over 10 years so I have tried to provide a range of activities for my little one based on what he would be doing at nursery.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
I have created my own Facebook page with activities and it has been very helpful for my friends and family… it is a great idea to research ideas and share them too.
