Sinthiya, from London, shows us how to make a bird feeder. Let’s take a look…
To make you will need:
- A disposable cup
- Peanut butter
- Bird seeds
- Ribbon/string
How to:
1. Lay your bird seeds out in a flat tray
2. Cut the bottom end of the disposable cup out
3. Cover the side of the cup with peanut butter
4. Roll the cup around the bird seed tray (do a few layers)
5. Tie the string or ribbon through the cup
6. Hang on a tree branch and watch the birds swoop in
This activity was done with a 7month and 11month baby and they both enjoyed rolling the cup in the tray filled with bird seed. Everything else was prepared by an adult. Older children can do this by themselves and find the perfect spot for it hang on.

How are you finding being housebound so far?
It has been a strange time for everyone. Living indoors has been a struggle but we made sure to go on daily walks to get some fresh air. Pre planning indoor activities so that we had something to do each day really helped too.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
