Jo, from London, created a pond in their garden. Let’s have a look…
What did you do?
We designed, dug, lined and filled a pond and then selected the right plants and rocks to make it look natural and inviting to local wildlife.
The children dug out the pond and we found a great pond liner made of rubber. It is more expensive but is more durable. All the plants for around the pond were relocated from other parts of the garden. Only fixing the pump was difficult as the water was very cold but the boys wetsuits came in handy! The smaller of the family could not lift the rocks so they were in charge of cleaning them…. with the hose- which they loved!
Do you have any other projects planned?
To clear an area nearby to so that we can sit and spend time near the pond.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
We are Jo and Martin, we are lucky enough to have 4 children aged 3-14 in the outskirts of London, England.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
Ok, has its moments but we are healthy and together x
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Try to stay positive, calling my parents on my phone have saved me at times. Talking to others made me realised we are all going through it!
