Abi, from Macclesfield, didn’t want to wait until Christmas this year. Let’s take a look at what she did…
What did you do?
We had a surprise “Christmas day” for our two boys 4 and 7.5. Wrapped up some small, cheap, token gifts, and put them under the fake Xmas tree. We had Xmas breakfast with a Nutella/puff pastry tree. We had proper Christmas dinner (glorified Sunday lunch using a chicken instead of a turkey). Family games. Everyone dressed smart. Christmas film. Christmas music.
The whole thing worked. The kids were so excited for the whole day, and as parents we didn’t stop smiling. We all loved it.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
Abi from Macclesfield in Cheshire. Children aged 4 and 7.5. Currently working from home (work for the NHS) as well as trying to home school!
How are you finding being housebound so far?
Not as challenging as I thought to be honest! I fully expected more meltdowns from everyone (me included) but we are very lucky to have a big garden and the weather has been mostly amazing which has helped.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
