Jasmine, from Benton, Maine, sent in this great cardboard box craft idea. Big boxes are a kid’s best friend. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
Find a box big enough for your child to fit inside with the top closed.
Provide them with drawing /coloring materials, stickers, paint etc.
Let the child decorate the inside of the box how they wish!
Give some blankets, pillows, and a flashlight to give the child a new way to play with the box and turn it into a dark movie theater type room for their tablet or to read a book.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
Children ages 7 and 4
From Benton, Maine USA
How are you finding being housebound so far?
The first two weeks I cried every day when I woke up. Felt lost, scared and uncertain.
As time went on I started to feel better and embrace the time together. We started letting the kids watch TV late in the rooms which created the kids to star sleeping in later too , which allowed me some quiet time in the mornings. That helped a lot!
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Make time for yourself to recharge your batteries and have enough energy to get through the day.
Has being part of our community helped you?
It has given me ideas to try with the kids as well as share ideas with others on stuff they could try too.
