Claire, from Gloucester, shares her firefighting play idea.
What did you do?
We drew some flames on windows with washable glass markers, chalk on the bricks and on the floors. We made a paper helmet and fireman Jack was all set to put out the fire with the garden hose.
It helped Jack as he has severe learning difficulties to really engage in his learning with role play.
Lots of fun too.
Do you have any other projects planned?
We are learning all about key workers at the moment so we will be making a post box to do some post man role play.
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…
My name is Claire, I have one child called Jack 10 he has complex medical needs and sever autism with language and development delays. We are from Gloucestershire.
How are you finding being housebound so far?
We found the change in routine difficult to begin with. But we like the new routine and it’s the new normal for us.
Do you have any tips for other parents?
Try and make you learning come off the page and enjoy exploring different things with your children.
Has this website and community helped you?
