Claire, from the UK, shows us this fantastic alphabet treasure hunt activity…
What did you do?
- Make alphabet cards (I laminated letters).
- Lay them out on a surface (table/floor/
tuff tray ). - Sound out the letters or for older children asked them to identify the letters and then hunt for an object that begins with the letter they chose.
- Once found place objects on the corresponding letter.
The objects need to be size related to the cards or use a bigger space.
Tell us all a bit about yourself…
I’m Claire and I have a 4.5 yr old boy and a 2.5 yr old girl we are in the UK.
How are you finding being housebound with kids so far?
Its ok. I’m from a childcare background so we are just carrying on as normal.
Any tips to help people when they are housebound with kids?
Set yourself a daily task or activity. Or even a weekly topic. Use books and prompts for ideas.
