Create your own food illusions at home. Here we show you how to serve up some fruity egg and chips. A fun snack time meal for everyone!
Thanks to Katie, from Manchester, who sent in this great fruity egg and chips idea. Let’s take a look at it…
What did you do?
We made fruity egg and chips.
How did you make it?
Mix a bit of greek yogurt together with a few drops of vanilla extract and powdered sugar.
Shape it so it looks like an egg and place the peach half on top.
Core an apple and either use a mandolin or a knife to cut the apple into chip size pieces.
Easy peasy! My kids loved it so much they asked could they have it again tomorrow so that’s a win! Xx
Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

They do enjoy fruit anyway but getting them to eat more is always a bonus.

Get creative. Find fun things to do that the whole family can enjoy. Not everything has to cost a lot of money, This quick dinner literally cost me a couple of pence!

Sling puck
The floor is lava board game
And Frustration
What are your children’s favourite books?
Harry Potter for my eldest, He also loves the Guinness world record books and the Ripleys believe it or not ones,
My younger children like anything! We get most of their in bundles from Ebay.
What toys would you recommend to other parents?
We bought 2 books from amazon, They cost us £5.99 each.
1 is a book of family cards game that we have loved learning to play, There’s something suitable for all ages
And the other is a big book of riddles, Admittedly sometimes even my 6 year old has put me to shame by guessing them right when I haven’t had a clue!
Has this website and community helped you?
I absolutely love the housebound with kids website and facebook page, We get so many ideas and fun things to do with our children that don’t cost the earth! As long as they are happy and entertained and having fun, Then that’s a win in my book.
