We show you how to create your own beautiful jar lanterns. It is a suitable craft activity for many ages and will all result in a bespoke art creation.

What did you do?
We made jar lanterns. This is such a lovely, simple activity and one that most ages can enjoy with a little adult help.⠀
What you need:
Glass jars, Tissue paper, PVA glue and a Paintbrush.
Instructions:
Using empty jars with any labels removed, we used PVA glue to stick different shapes and colours of tissue paper all over the outside of the jar.⠀

Once the glue is fully dry, add a candle and you have a beautiful glowing lantern.⠀
This activity really lets little ones be creative, there is no right or wrong and yet the outcome is always beautiful!

Do you have any tips for other parents?
Always follow your child’s lead in terms of their interests. I always aim to come up with creative projects based on what the boys love at that time.
What are your children’s favourite books?
We love books, and there are so many. But the favourites in our house at the moment are The Koala Who Could and The Squirrels Who Squabbled!
