Tammy, from Alberta, Canada, shows us how to make cloud dough.  Lets give it a go!

What did you do?

I love cloud dough! It’s so smooth, smells nice and is cool to the touch.

Now, we found another reason to love it even more!

My three year old wanted to play with the cloud dough we had made a couple weeks ago. We had it stored in zipper bags. And, yes! It was still pretty fresh! While playing with the cloud dough, he asked if he could break the dough apart.

I’m happy he asked because the cloud dough turned into a sand like material. We could even clump it back together, pat it down and crumble it up again! My 9 year old even enjoyed playing with it!

The instructions are super simple. And, all you need are 3 ingredients.

Supplies:
– 1 cup cornstarch
– 1/2 cup lotion
– food coloring
– spatula
– bowl for mixing

HOW TO:
1. Put 1/2 cup lotion into bowl.
2. Add food coloring of your choice to the lotion.
3. Mix together.
4. Add 1 cup of cornstarch.
5. Mix all ingredients until combined.
6. Using your hands, knead together.
7. Have fun!

When you are kneading the dough:

If you find it is too wet, add a little more cornstarch.

If you find it too dry, add more lotion.

Do you have any other projects planned?

We always have projects on the go!

Something we are working on now is a city made out of packing supplies from a coffee machine.

We will also start working on creating a road craft. Something the boys can drive their cars on.

We will be using cardboard to make trees and roads. The cardboard for the roads will be cut so my boys can place them where they want.

Tell the Housebound With Kids community a bit about yourself…

My name is Tammy. I have two beautiful boys, ages 3 and 9 and a wonderful hubby. We live in Alberta, Canada.

During the COVID quarantine, me and my boys were doing tons of arts + crafts and fun experiments. So, we decided to start our instagram pages, the imperfect crafter and art and fun with sebi to share our ideas with other families.

How are you finding being housebound so far?

Being housebound with the kids has been wonderful but has also been exhausting!

It’s been nice to spend so much time together. But, I think we all need a break from one another soon.

Do you have any tips for other parents?

My tips would be to make sure you get outside. Fresh air makes such a difference!

Go on a walk every day if you are able.

And, make time for yourself.

Has this website and community helped you?

What I love about the Housebound with Kids website is reading about how people are finding it housebound with kids. Some of the responses have given me a good giggle.

I also love that it gives people the opportunity to share their work and really feel appreciated for their creative efforts!
